Social Media Negative
If we seemingly know everything about the lives of each other through an edited version of the truth, we set ourselves up for chaos. Popularity contests arise amongst us, almost as if we are thrown back into the welcoming arms of our past adolescence. We are setting ourselves up for major problems ranging from jealousy and obsession to complete apathy. A social media network bully or even a virtual columbine massacre is not to be laughed at when dealing with a society on the edge. We tag and un-tag, comment, like and update our statuses, but the dark side is that we also judge, we laugh at others to feel better about ourselves, we form opinions based on virtual representations of others and we pat ourselves on the back for doing this. We will need to change this before we destroy what makes us who we are supposed to be.
